Fit to Dive
To be able to participate in diving activities you will need to fill out a medical questionnaire. if you answer a “YES” to any of the questions you will require a medical examination. This can be done here at the Dahab recompression chamber, but it is best to get yourself checked by a diving physician before you come to Dahab. You can download the medical forms for all PADI & IANTD courses from the bottom of this page.

Illness
If you are feeling sick please let us know and we will arrange for a doctor to come and see you (24 hrs). They are not too expensive and will give you a receipt to claim on your insurance. There are even two recompression chambers in Dahab.
Water
Dehydration is common. It is exacerbated by caffeine and alcohol. Diving also plays a part due to the dry air in your tank. It is wise to drink as much water as you can comfortably manage! The recommended daily water intake is 2-3 large bottles and 4-6 bottles for divers. Please do not drink the tap water!
Visa’s
Upon arrival at Sharm el Sheikh or Taba airport there are two visa options:
Option 1: If you are just planning to stay only in South Sinai (Dahab, Sharm el Sheikh, Nuweiba, Taba and St Catherine) for 2 weeks or less and you are not intending to dive at Ras Mohammed, Tiran or at The Thistlegorm, you can get the free of charge “14 Days South Sinai Only” stamp from passport control.
Option 2: If you want to travel around Egypt, stay for more than 2 weeks, or dive at Ras Mohammed, Tiran or the Thistlegorm, you need to buy the “1 Month Whole Egyptian Visa” (available at the airport before the passport control) for $25.00 per person.
Please note you passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months (departure date) to be allowed to enter Egypt.
Transfers
A return airport transfer in your own private air-conditioned taxi can be arranged by us. Just contact us by email. To organise your transfer (40 Euro per car each way from Sharm), we need to know your flight number and arrival time.
If you arrive from Taba (approx. 90 min transfer, but a beautiful tour though the desert in an air-conditioned car) please contact us for transfer rates. Flights to Taba might be cheaper than to Sharm.
There are also buses available from the Sharm and Taba bus station to Dahab. You need to get a taxi to the bus station from the airport and although you may have to wait for a couple of hours, the trip is very affordable.
