PADI Dive Courses

As a PADI 5* Gold Palm Resort (CDWS certified), our emphasis is on high-quality training courses, from Open Water Diver to Divemaster

We have an exceptional reputation for Divemaster training, offering the individual the opportunity of an internship, leading to a qualification allowing a divemaster to seek work world-wide.

We have thousands of happy divers out there, all trained by the Reef team. Many are happy to just blow a few bubbles on holiday and a good few are climbing the PADI ladder.

We feel we have to warn you however that a few of our customers have never left and are still with us working as Divemasters and Instructors. Reef 2000 cannot be held responsible for wayward sons and daughters who swap the real life for a wet suit and come to live in the middle of a desert. It’s not our fault, we are only doing our job and we don’t speak to irate parents, employers or taxmen.

Bubble Blower (INTRO for kids)

This ones for the kids and they can get started at 8 yrs old! This is a gentle (arms depth) introduction to that unforgettable first breath under water. Done in the pool with a tiny tank we guide the little ‘bubble blowers’ (I bet you’ve called them worse) around the pool and have some fun with them. Parents are welcome to join in, or take the chance to get some quality time in while we take care of the nippers.

Intro

Have you ever thought about what it must be like to actually breathe underwater? Well this is your chance to try it in the beautiful Red Sea, under the supervision of a qualified professional diving instructor. All you have to do is kick your fins, open your eyes and enjoy the wonders of the Red Sea reefs. As you glide weightless through the clear waters a kaleidoscope of shimmering fish life and colourful coral gardens surrounds you. Dahab is one of the worlds premiere dive destinations, so while you are here why not make the most of your stay and join the wet suit brigade? Come and see what all the fuss is about.

We look forward to blowing some bubbles with you soon!

Rescue Diver Training expands your diving knowledge, improves your diving skills and teaches you to be a more aware and responsible diver. More importantly, rescue training can help you to save lives and increases diver safety by preparing you to respond to and handle diving emergencies. PADI Divemaster course

The PADI Divemaster course is the first professional level of diving qualification and one of the finest programs of diver education in existence. This course is normally a prerequisite to work as a Dive Guide, as you learn how to organise and conduct diving theory and assist divers in training.

You will spend time with your instructor receiving hands on training and assisting with dive courses and guiding dives, which will be invaluable practical experience. At Reef 2000 the course is normally run over a period of 3 to 4 weeks, but this can be extended to incorporate an internship at no extra cost and is highly recommended as the way to go.

What will I Learn?

The Divemaster is responsible for people, planning, orienting, and at some time nearly every aspect of safe diving. As this is a considerable responsibility, the decision to become a Divemaster should not be made rashly. Being a Divemaster, you will experience unequaled rewards in terms of personal satisfaction and fulfillment. If you are interested in taking your diving to more than just the recreational level, PADI Divemaster rating is essential in enabling you to explore the professional possibilities available. The decision to pursue this goal is to be congratulated, and it is Reef 2000`s hope that this will be the beginning of a journey that will take the serious diver into an entirely different domain of diving – the domain of the professional.

Benefits of the 4 week Internship

We strongly recommend that the 4 week Internship should be taken. The additional week provides the extra work experience that will give the candidate the edge over other Divemaster trainees. By providing this extra training, we expect from the candidate hard work and endeavor.

Pre-requisites for the course

PADI Advanced and Rescue Diver or equivalent (Requires proof of certification in advanced diving and diving rescue from a recognized training agency, and proof of 20 logged dives). Minimum age: 18 yrs. Submit a medical examination from a physician stating fitness for diving. PADI Nitrox Diver coures

Build your bottom time, and build your confidence, as you learn that diving with enriched air isn’t rocket science or difficult!

Enriched air replaces some of the nitrogen you breath underwater with oxygen, so that during a dive you absorb less nitrogen then you would when breathing normal air. This means that you have longer no-decompression limits for each depth than you do using air and are ultimately a safer diver.

What will I Learn?

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is designed to teach you the procedures for safe recreational no-decompression diving with enriched air. The course covers the equipment and procedural concerns involving enriched air. You’ll learn how to plan dives and determine your no-decompression limits and your oxygen exposure limits with enriched air. You’ll learn the proper procedures for obtaining enriched air as well as the hazards associated with handling and diving with enriched air. This is a theory only course but you will receive 2 Nirox tanks to be used in your guided dive package.

Pre-requisites for the course

PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent (Equivalent = certification beyond entry level with at least 20 logged dives, showing experience in Night, Deep and Navigation). Minimum Age is 15 yrs,

Duration

The course takes 1 day, but can split it into two afternoons (so you do not lose out on the daily diving) Every student needs to bring his/her own study materials – can be bought on site.
